Ah yes…some people collect weapons…other people collect movie paraphenalia.  For those who do both, this one is sure to be a hit.

Culture in your pocket

Many of you probably don’t read The New Yorker.  (Hell, I glance at it probably once every few months!)  But I assure you, the magazine is filled some some high quality culture and information.  This is why I find them releasing their entire archive (from February 1925 up to April 2006) to be so fantastic.  For a mere $300, you too can own a part of this wonderful part of American culture.

How to be a Ninja

Well…not really. Ninjitsu is just one of those things that takes years of hard work and endurance to master. For the lazy, here’s the next best thing. Creating Shurikens as if by magic out of ordinary paper. I wonder how long it’ll take before the TSA starts banning folding paper on airplanes.

Now with Sudoku

Yes, it’s popular. God knows why. They have books of them…they even have little $10 pieces of sh*t that gets you playing it.

Hell…they even have more expensive pieces of sh*t that’ll do it too…and then a bit more. Acer is trying to cash in on the follies popular trends of today by incorporating Sudoku into their next line of Digital Audio Players [DAP]. So while it will continue to suck because it’s trying to be an iPod [and fails at it], it will suck even more for pandering to the mindless idiocy of the peoples.

Straight from the horses mouth…to airport security!

The Transportation Security Administration is the agency that makes the rules as to what we can and can not bring onto planes.  While we can’t blame the TSA for terrorist attacks, we can blame them for making even the shortest trip in the air barely comfortable in the name of national security.  If you’re not sure if something is banned, check out the link below.  I’m sure it’ll come in handy for your next trip to Amsterdam.

TSA: Permitted and Prohibited Items [from the TSA...duh]

Sometimes, I have to wonder if the TSA has a spinning wheel deep inside their lair where they secretly choose a new item to ban at random.

What could they ban next?  Digital watches?  Hair clips?  Baby pacifiers?  I’m sure you can find reasons why they should be banned.  Feel free to post them in the comments!

Lifehacker has a sweet link to a PDF describing how to counter Telemarketer’s script that they use to harass you.  Definitely worth a good read…though one has to feel sorry for those underpaid, unappreciated folks who person the phones.

Transformers….Roll Out!

Yahoo Movies has a list of all the bots that will appear in the [sorta] upcoming feature film Transformers. The list looks pretty good, but the Autobots seem to be kinda thin in the ranks. All I’m hoping for is some good ol’ fashion bot on bot brawls between Megatron and Optimus Prime.

Oh…did I mention that these are two-headed snakes?

Real Life Moleman!

William Lyttle is a pretty average man living in Hackney, UK.  Well, average except for the fact that he’s spent the last 40 years of his life digging tunnels underneath his home and the surrounding areas.  Now, The Man has put his foot down and will put a stop to this man’s passion of creating an underground utopia where he will rule as lord and saviour.  The UK government will fill the tunnels in with concrete, but nobody is quite sure how extensive this underground network actually is.  City officials estimate that the project will cost £100,000 and will be expensed by Mr. Lyttle.  This is quite a setback for amateur tunnelers and photosensitive neo-sapiens everywhere.

Doing more with Rubber Bands

I do find myself oddly attracted to weird displays of art regardless of its usefulness or even the potential danger it may place to audiences or passersby.  Jasmine Zimmerman’s latest piece of installation art is composed of rubber bands – a lot of rubber bands….in webs….around New York…getting in people’s ways.  Dangerous? Definitely.  Good times?  Hells yea.  Link to the Flickr Albums below and a second link with the artist’s statement.

I really don’t want to get clotheslined by those.
