Still alive for the moment. Found by ghettopimp, posted by me. A look at the State of Atheism.
I just came across this today while doing my daily reading. With Apple’s iTunes 7.0 release and their new games, people thoguht it was a great extension of the iPod line. But appearently, people have been doing this with Doom for over a year now. Who knew
For those of you that haven’t paid attention to the media circus that was Apple’s product announcement today here’s the summary:
1) New version of iTunes (version 7). In the US, you get full movie downloads, with international movies hopefully coming early in the new year. (Ya right, still waiting for TV downloads in Canada). The new interface is actually very slick and a much improvment (atleast on Windows) over the last one. One thing I did notice though: 100MB of Memory used. Download here. Oh, and one more thing: for fifth generation iPods, we now have much better games to play on them, but they’ll cost you money ($55 for the set of 9). I’m just waiting for someone to download them, hack them, and make them freely available.
2) New iPods: We get the 5.5 Generation video iPods (now in 39 and 80GB capacities with brighter screens and longer batteries, for a lower price), new iPod nano’s that feature the same aluminum colours that the old Mini’s had, and a new iPod Shuffle that looks more like a matchbook.
3) Project iTV: a MacMini like set top box which is suppose to allow the supposed wireless streaming of media files from your computers to your TV (very useful with Movie downloads). Not shipping yet, just the project was announced, which is admitely unusual for Apple (to annouce products before they’re released.
It involves 2 things which are currently a part of my life… World of Warcraft and my Ipod.
Here’s what happens when things go horribly wrong…
Note to self – never take your ipod to the can.
Interesting look at the things that people starting out in college this year don’t know, since they never had to experience it since it happend before they were born.
I wonder what our own list would look like?
Not sure if anyone who reads this is actually close to St. Louis [none of the contributors are], but there appears to be some kind of exhibit at the St. Louis Zoo of the 2-headed nature.
Oh…did I mention that these are two-headed snakes?

William Lyttle is a pretty average man living in Hackney, UK. Well, average except for the fact that he’s spent the last 40 years of his life digging tunnels underneath his home and the surrounding areas. Now, The Man has put his foot down and will put a stop to this man’s passion of creating an underground utopia where he will rule as lord and saviour. The UK government will fill the tunnels in with concrete, but nobody is quite sure how extensive this underground network actually is. City officials estimate that the project will cost £100,000 and will be expensed by Mr. Lyttle. This is quite a setback for amateur tunnelers and photosensitive neo-sapiens everywhere.

Slashdot has a story now, saying that Matt Damon (yes, that Matt), is going to play the young James T. Kirk in Star Trek X1, according to IMDB.
So it turns out our grammer isn’t going into the crapper because of IM… well.. that’s what UofT is claiming.
Wired News is running an interesting story at how Wikipedia (and their admins) handled Colbert’s ‘The Word’ segment featuring Wikiality. Interesting read and definitely shows the power of the mass[ed] public.

A study described by BBC is pointing to a potential problem with Americans – Obesity. Not only are there direct health reasons for being overweight, but there are indirect causes too…. Like the inability for your body to be X-Rayed.
Odd…huh?
I haven’t found anything to support or deny it, but this seems like it can only be a good thing in my mind concerning net neutrality.

Several days ago, we found out that Sen. Ted Stevens is an incompetent git who doesn’t know anything about the internet….or so we thought. Here are some theories as to where he learned about the internet.
1. An Ann Arbor Museum – featuring the internet as a series of tubes and flying balls. [BoingBoing]
2. This Singaporean ISP Website [via BoingBoing]
Perhaps he is not the only person to be blamed. Even still, the internet has responded with the following.

2. This techno remix
3. And let’s never forget about the Ted Stevens Fan Club on Myspace

Boy, that was refreshing.
I’m sure most people would have run into this link on their own…. but it was too good to risk having someone miss it. It’s the net neutrality issue! as only Comedy Central can explain it.
